Title: Project Operational Specialist
Building, Implementing and Monitoring, Network and Systems - L’Oreal & Finansbank Projects
Description:
The role involved planning L’Oreal & Finansbank Projects, initiating and co-coordinating project intakes and delivery intakes for Finansbank. Our team changed and implemented the network, monitoring systems, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and Crisis Management plans. We also implemented the banking systems and programs with external outsourced banking programs and infrastructure teams. We built a secure and robust structure for Finansbank. We were responsible for testing, monitoring programs and implementing the operations of the bank departments. Some of my other responsibilities were making reports of the results to the relative departments. As well as defining and documenting business processes to reflect system implementation.
My technical responsibilities in IBM’s Finansbank project are listed below:
About the project: Finansbank is a quickly growing bank and is the 5th biggest bank of Turkey. Their system was not adequate enough to support their vision for growth and future customers.
We were expected to implement the systems so they were able to adapt to future changes, were fault-tolerant, redundant, manageable, and maintainable.IBM has multiple support contracts for different services including hardware and software and support and downtime with Finansbank. The IT administrator had to provide solutions to problems, which is within 1 hour total.
We designed 3 rooms which are the server room, the server test room and the bank test room. These are designed for application and database testing. Individual components are essential to our success in designing and deploying an integrated, understandable system which is easy to manage.
In total there were five IBM IT administrators, including myself. We planned servers, floor, security design such as powers, cooling, cable infra-structures, security & fire protection, racks, servers, disaster recovery systems and operational systems. We identified and recommended process improvements, implementation, and maintenance of all aspects of the infrastructure network. We were administrating and monitoring, infrastructure upgrades and test database programs on their side and our side. I was identifying priorities and managing resource, as well as implementing security measures on these systems.
I provided consulting services to customers on all issues and prepared documentation. This included business requirements, and testing special programs, which were written by Banksoft. The software house was producing a standard package on acquiring and issuing Visa/Europay credit/debit cards, POS terminals, EFT transaction switching and ATMs. Another of my responsibility was to report all issues to IBM, Finansbank and Banksoft.
